Lampocoy Coffee

Cooled by Atlantic trade winds, this plantation on the eastern slopes of the Sierra Madre is at an altitude of 1,200 metres and has a cool and humid microclimate that provides perfect growing conditions. The farmers of the small mountain village of Lampocoy have been producing excellent coffees for more than 100 years. In 2011, a German television journalist “discovered’ this coffee and introduced it to Europe. The Lampocoy farmers are now able to make a living from harvesting only 30 tonnes of green coffee a year through direct trade. With a delicate acidity, a hint of red fruits and notes of chocolate and caramel, this full-bodied coffee is one of the finest from Guatemala.
